SMSC sits at the heart of education and enables children and young people to make appropriate choices as they encounter complex and changing circumstances in our modern society. When addressed well, SMSC development has the potential to:
To further promote SMSC-BV opportunities, the school has a programme of events based on religious and cultural events that are celebrated locally, nationally and globally. The events enable pupils to have opportunities that some may not be able to experience outside of school due to their needs and the support they require. These events can be found on our Celebration Days calendar.

Through Young Citizens, we use a self-review tool and verification service to help audit and improve our SMSC provision. Young Citizens is a citizenship education charity that informs, equips and inspires children and young people across the UK to be active citizens.
By assessing our existing SMSC delivery using the SMSC Quality Mark, we have the opportunity to reflect on our current provision and use that to nurture and develop future plans. Wren Spinney is currently applying for the accreditation ‘Quality Mark’ for our SMSC curriculum.
