📡 Communication with Families

We use a variety of methods to stay connected with our families and keep you informed. These include:

  • Paper letters sent home with students
  • Text messages and emails via Arbor, our school Management Information System (MIS)
  • Phone calls for more urgent or personal matters
  • Class Dojo, our online platform for sharing updates, messages, and classroom news

We encourage all families to stay engaged through these channels to ensure smooth and timely communication.

Class Dojo

Class Dojo is an online platform used by schools for sharing updates, messages, and classroom news. We use three key areas to support communication and engagement between school and home.

School Story

A shared space where teachers post updates, photos, and announcements about whole school activities and events.

This can be seen by all parents/carers and all staff that are members of Class Dojo in the whole school community.

Class Story

A shared space where teachers post updates, photos, and announcements about classroom activities and school events.

It’s a great way to stay connected with what’s happening day-to-day.

This can be seen by parents who have pupils in that class, the class staff, the pastoral team, and the admin team.

Portfolio

A personalised area for individual pupils. Parents can view and celebrate their child’s progress throughout the year.

This can only be seen by the associated parents/carers of the child, the class staff, the pastoral team, and the admin team.

Class Dojo Notes:

  • Parents/carers can only reply to existing posts and cannot create new ones.
  • We do not use the messaging feature within Class Dojo, as messages sent directly to individual staff members are not visible to the wider class or pastoral team.
  • If you use the messaging feature and a staff member is absent, your message may not be seen till they return.

⚠️ Teachers are asked to check for posts at the start and end of each school day. Class Dojo is used for general updates, sharing information, and non-urgent parent contact.

⚠️ If you have urgent information or something that needs to be seen quickly, please call the school office directly on 01536 481939.

⚠️ For reporting absences, please follow our Absence Procedure.
