Covid 19 Update & Class Dojo

Dear Parents/Carers
We have already completed our first full week back at school; it has been fantastic to see the pupils settling back into routines.

As you will be aware we are governed by ever-changing guidance and this is a challenge for both families and schools.

Currently anyone showing symptoms should have a coronavirus test. Until this test result has been received the person has to self-isolate (even if the symptoms go) with whoever they live with and any support bubble.

The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

  • If the test is negative the person and household/bubble can return to normal.
  • If positive the government self-isolation guidelines have to be followed.
  • Until a test result is received self-isolation must take place.

As a school we are very aware of the needs of our pupils and that many would not be able to take a swab test; we have spoken with the Local Authority and Public Health England with regards to this and they are hoping in the future an alternative test will be available but not for the foreseeable future!

Government Guidance states a person who shows symptoms and cannot receive a test will have to self-isolate for 10 days.

We continue with our school bubbles and aware that there are special schools in our county are having to shut bubbles.

Class Dojo

The majority of schools communicate through the use of Apps and social media platforms. Wren Spinney are moving to Class Dojo as our home-school communication system.

Class Dojo is a widely used App and more information can be found via their website at

We have sent out texts and links for permissions again this week and ask, if you have not already done so, to complete this weekend as we will update our list on Monday.

On Monday we will be sending joining invitations home to Parents/Carers, who have completed permissions, and the system will go live!

We wish everyone a safe, well and happy weekend.

Kind Regards

Wren Spinney Community School
