Religious Education

Religious Education at Wren Spinney School sets out to teach students about the world around them, giving them a sense of their own identity and of relationships with other individuals and groups.

Learning is planned to ensure there is a balanced coverage of all faiths and beliefs. As all teaching is adapted to the individual needs of the students, what is taught at first may contain little that is religiously formal or explicit, but will lay foundations for a more mature study of religion.

The 1944 Education Act established the right of parents to withdraw their children from RE. The Headteacher will discuss practical implications with any parent wishing to exercise the right of withdrawal.
